3 Ways to get out of a bad mood

Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Maybe you have had an argument with someone? Got some bad news? The reason behind the bad mood doesn’t matter, but you don’t want to stay stuck in it for long.

Your mood has a drastic impact on everything you do and whilst it would be great to live in a world where every day you wake up happy, excited and ready for the day ahead… that isn’t always the reality. However, learning how to be able to turn your mood from bad to good is essential which is why I’m sharing 3 things for you to try when you need a mood change.

 

1 – MEDITATION

Have you ever had an awful day and wake up the next morning and have forgotten about it? Unfortunately, we can’t just go to bed every time we are in a bad mood, but meditation can have a similar effect. By taking some time out to meditate and focusing on something else, you can trick your mind into forgetting the bad mood you were in and hopefully come out of the meditation with a fresh mind that, fingers crossed, is positive and optimistic.

 

2- EXERCISE

If there is one thing I can promise you, it is that sitting and stewing when you are a bad mood isn’t going to change it. In order to change your mood, you need to change your state and a great way to do this is through exercise. Moving your body will get the blood pumping, your heart beating and hopefully bring new energy. Also, if you choose the right type of exercise it can also act as a great stress reliever so you might be able to get some anger out of you, whilst also being good to your body.

 

3 – MUSIC

This is my go-to when I need to change my mood quickly. In just 3-4 minutes the right choice of song can totally change my mood. Think about what songs automatically make you feel good? What songs do you love to sing along to dance to?

I recommend you create a playlist of uplifting, joyful, motivating songs that you can instantly turn to in times of need.
