3 Ways To Practice Your Affirmations

Want to start practicing affirmations? Affirmations are a great personal development tool and definitely something you should consider practicing on a daily basis. But how do you actually practice affirmations? In this post, I’m sharing 3 different ways that you can practice your affirmations.

1 – Read Them

The first way you can practice your affirmations is by reading them.

Firstly, you will need to have all of the affirmations you want to practice written down somewhere that you can easily reference. If you haven’t already decided on what affirmations you want to practice then I have created a free list to get you started. You can access the list of affirmations by clicking here.

Where you write your list of affirmations doesn’t matter. It can be a digital list or a paper list as long as it is somewhere you will look daily. You could write your affirmation at the front of a notebook by your bed so you can read them as soon as you wake up and just before you go to bed. Or maybe you create an affirmation screensaver so when you first turn your computer on you read them. I personally like to have a note on my iPhone that is pinned to the top so when I have a few spare minutes I can quickly open it up and read some to myself.

2 – Say Them Out Loud

The second way you can practice your affirmations is by saying them out loud.

Go back to the same list you put together for reading, but rather than reading them to yourself you read them out loud. If you are embarrassed about someone you live with hearing you then practice them in the shower.

**Bonus Tip** – If you really want to practice your affirmations like a pro then stand in front of the mirror and look at your reflection as you say your affirmations

3 – Listen to them

The third way you can practice your affirmations is by listening to them.

Now it is common for people to read and say their affirmations out loud, but fewer people listen to their affirmations, which is a great shame. Online you can find affirmation audios, but I encourage people to make their own. Not only does this mean that the affirmations are specific to you, but there is something powerful about hearing your own voice.

Now if you are anything like me the sound of your voice might make you cringe at first, but remember this for your long-term success so push through!

Making your own affirmations recording is easier than ever before. I just use the Voice Memo app on the iPhone, but essentially you just need a way to record you saying your affirmations and then play it back.

The beauty of having a recording is then you can be playing this when you are home or through headphones when you are out and about. You don’t need your list to refer to and you can be listening to it passively whilst you are doing things.

That’s it!

I hope you have found this useful. Remember if you haven’t got a list of affirmations yet you can get my affirmations starter list by clicking here.

I would love to know in the comments below how you are going to practice your affirmations going forward.
